Through a variety of experiences, Tom Ehrhart ’77 made the most of his time as a member of Lambda Chi Alpha. Close friendships, character building, intramurals, parties, and road trips made his days in the house meaningful, and not just in college.
Tom felt the chapter was a big influence on him during his time as a member. “Everyone made an impact on me in their own way,” he said, and that there were times when alumni have had his back throughout the years.
The closeness of the chapter was the result of rebuilding during Tom’s early days as a member. “We were known for coming back from a terrible split that left the house with only three seniors during my frosh year,” he said.
Tom fondly recalled playing D-League intramural basketball. “There were only five of us on the team, but we could’ve won a game had any of us been clear-headed enough to call some time outs so we could rest,” he said.
Tom’s favorite hangout in the house was the bar and there were plenty of funny stories from his time in the chapter, but “you would have to change too many names in order to protect the guilty.”
When it came to fraternity road trips, however, he cryptically said, “Hood girls are good girls.”
