John Stidman ’76: “I loved the brotherhood initiation ritual.”

When John Stidman ’76 was a student, he enjoyed the variety of chapter life.

“We were a house with many competitive runners in cross country and track. We were brothers with a wide spread of interests. You could not pigeon-hole the brotherhood into a category. We were a well-respected house in general.”

“I loved hanging out in the living room before meals, conversing with the brotherhood, or on the  front steps after lunch, waiting to go to your 1:00 or 1:15 p.m. class.”

John credits the members of the chapter during his time in school for changing the culture of the organization. “Our class and the ’77-’79 classes – we totally rebuilt the brotherhood of the house and made it very stable for the future classes.”
