David Crumplar ‘06: “Lambda Chi provides students with a sense of home that they will be theirs for the rest of their life. Whatever they do and wherever they live, 113 West Broad is always home.”

David Crumplar’06 is an attorney in Wilmington, Delaware. He says, “I live just over the state line in Landenberg, PA with my wife, Sarah; son, Jack; and several pets. We are expecting another boy in late December.”

Crumplar graduated from Gettysburg College with a double major in History and Political Science. Following graduation, he completed a MA in Irish History from Queen’s University Belfast in Belfast Northern Ireland. After a short time working in DC, Crumplar attended law school at the University Richmond. After graduating in 2012 from Richmond, he returned to his roots in Wilmington.

When asked why he joined Lambda Chi, David says, “I was friends with several of the brothers. They had a similar temperament to mine.  I knew they were fun guys, who were active on campus, good students, and did not haze.” As an active brother, David served as the Vice President.

David says one of his favorite memories of his time in Lambda Chi was living in the house with the other brothers. “The house had a good mix of guys when I was there. My favorite memory from being a brother was just the everyday experience of living in a big old house on a nice street in a historic college town. At the time, the house was set apart in that there wasn’t one type of brother in the house. Additionally, the brothers placed importance on their academic lives.”

David currently holds the position of the Housing Corporation President and Alumni President. He expresses that Lambda Chi impacted his life long after graduation. “It made me prepared to deal with individuals different from me, and most importantly, gave me the opportunity to become lifelong friends with individuals I would otherwise not really know.”

On top of social benefits, David explains for Lambda Chi gives young men skills for their professional lives as an adult. “The Lambda Chi fraternity experience gives young men the value of dealing with how to run a house or budget, how to deal with issues between friends, and how to juggle personal life versus professional life.  The overall experience helps students prepare for the ups and downs of the “real world.””

David ends by giving one last piece of truth, “Lambda Chi provides students with a sense of home that they will be theirs for the rest of their life. Whatever they do and wherever they live, 113 West Broad is always home.”

“If I didn’t join Lambda Chi, I wouldn’t have known so many individuals who are now lifelong friends.”
