Brendan Callahan ’27: “Lambda Chi Alpha encourages growth, turning boys into men.”

Hailing from Woolwich Township, NJ, Brendan Callahan ’27 serves the chapter as High Tau (treasurer) and High Phi (ritualist). He majors in economics and is earning minors in philosophy and business. “I have held several internships in the insurance industry and intend to follow that path,” he said.

“As treasurer, I oversee house finances, ensuring all bills are paid, dues are collected, and the

budget is managed effectively,” Brendan said. “In my term, I intend to work with the executive board on projects that will benefit the house long term.

“As ritualist, I oversee all rituals, ensuring that they move smoothly in accordance with the

guidance of nationals. In my term, I intend to continue the lineage of well-performed rituals,

following my predecessors.”

Brendan began his membership in the fraternity with a connection with the members. “When I attended rush events, I clicked really well with a lot of guys, and it made Lambda feel

like the right choice on bid day,” he said.

Life as a brother in the house increased his bonds with the chapter. “Moving in has brought me so much closer with the entire brotherhood.”

As a member of the executive board, Brendan witnessed the importance of alumni involvement first-hand. “Without alumni support, we simply would not be able to operate at the capacity that we do,” he said. “Thanks to our strong alumni connections, we are able to continuously grow as a fraternity.”

Brendan imagined his life after graduation with Lambda Chi Alpha as a part of it. “I will have access to connections that I otherwise would not have known about. I will also have friends I would not have met without Lambda.”

When it comes to the value Lambda Chi Alpha adds to the undergraduate experience at Gettysburg, Brendan encouraged men to pursue membership in the chapter because “it is an opportunity for young men to find themselves, as well as brotherhood.

“Without Lambda Chi Alpha, I wouldn’t have made friends that will last a lifetime.”
