Dominic Diluzio ’26: “Without Lambda Chi Alpha, I would not be the man I am today.”

In December, Dominic Diluzio ’26 was elected as the High Alpha of the Theta-Pi Zeta. Dominic has juggled a busy schedule in his career at Gettysburg so far, balancing academic life as a political science and public policy major, his involvement in the fraternity, and the hectic schedule of a student-athlete.

Indeed, Dominic’s time on the track led to his membership in the fraternity. “A number of my teammates on the track team were Lambdas,” he explained, “and the example they set on and off the track, as leaders and mentors, showed me the type of man that Lambda Chi Alpha produces. I wanted to be like them, and pledged Lambda to strive towards that goal.”

During his time in the chapter, Dominic enjoyed blending his passion for running, impacting the community, and Lambda Chi, as evidenced by his time spent helping run the annual Antica Napoli Pizza 5K, one of his key memories of his time in the chapter thus far. Dominic also served the chapter as academic chairman in the spring semester of 2024.

Dominic feels his involvement with Lambda Chi is preparing him for life after graduation. “Leading a group of men with diverse interests and from a multitude of backgrounds has given me innumerous opportunities to challenge my leadership skills,” he said. “This process of failing, learning, and then succeeding not only prepares me for the reality of post-grad life, but also equips me with the skills needed to be successful in a career.”

Part of Dominic’s skill development has been impacted by alumni involvement. “Hank Harr’s direct involvement with the house, advising not only with contractors but with internal and external challenges, has been of untellable help, providing myself and the rest of the executive board with confidence in making decisions,” he said.

Dominic also credits alumni with the chapter’s ability to spend time on achieving their goals. “The skill and expertise of Jake Asplundh ’10 and Davy Crumplar ’06 in managing housing corporation allow us to focus all of our efforts on improving the brotherhood and succeeding at the goals we set for ourselves.”

As a runner, Dominic knows the importance of setting a winning pace, a skill that translates well to chapter operations and sets Theta-Pi Zeta up for success under his leadership.
